GoPro has officially announced the GoPro HERO10 Black, price tag from $399.98, an update to the popular action camera that introduces a new processor and a host of new features.
Among the new GoPro HERO10 Black specs are a powerful new GP2 processor, developed by GoPro, which promises better image quality and more variety of frame rates. The HERO10 Black can now capture 5.3K video at 60fps, or 4K video at 120fps for high-resolution slow-motion playback. You can also now shoot 2.7K video at 240fps for even slower motion footage.
The GoPro HERO10 Black’s new processor also powers GoPro’s HyperSmooth 4.0 video stabilisation technology, with increased horizon levelling limits. Previously available only at certain resolutions and frame rates, HyperSmooth 4.0 is available in 5.3K @ 30fps, 4K @ 60fps and 2.7K @ 120fps. The in-camera horizon levelling has also been boosted with a tilt limit increase from 27º to 45º when shooting in 4K60, 2.7K120 and 1080p120.
The HERO10 Black is also capable of 1080p livestreaming with HyperSmooth 4.0. You can also use the camera for conferencing in its 1080p Webcam mode.
The GoPro HERO10 Black also enables users to grab 19.6-megapixel stills (via the App) from 5.4K 4:3 video and 15.8-megapixel frames from 5.3K @ 60fps footage.
Another new feature in the HERO10 Black, 3D Noise Reduction, promises to improve the camera’s performance in low light.
There are now three ways to transfer content: Cloud Upload, Wireless Offload and a new wired transfer to your smartphone.
Other features include raw capture, Night Lapse Video mode, SuperPhoto + HDR and HindSight, LiveBurst, Scheduled Capture and Duration Capture options.
GoPro HERO10 Black Body Design
Design-wise, the HERO10 Black retains the body shape of the HERO9 Black. This means it is compatible with the Media Mod, Display Mod, Light Mod and Max Lens Mod launched last year with the HERO9 Black. It also has the removable, rechargeable battery. Other HERO9 Black accessories can also be perfectly adapted.
New to the HERO10 Black is a protective lens cover with a hydrophobic, water-shedding design. GoPro says it has also updated the rear touchscreen to make it more responsive.
The HERO10 Black boasts three microphones with Advanced Wind-Noise Reduction, stereo + RAW audio, custom presets and on-screen shortcuts.
